This quickstart guide will show you how to texture an asset using Polyhive. In this guide, we will use the default assets. Follow the 2 steps below to generate a texture for an asset!
Step 1: After creating an account, go through the guided New User Experience to understand how the web application works.
For the free tier, any assets that you upload and texture may be used by Polyhive strictly to improve our systems and for marketing purposes. Please only use Polyhive with assets where you have all rights required to use, modify, display, and distribute. To keep your results private, subscribe to Polyhive Plus or contact us at rahul@polyhive.ai.
Step 2: Select one of the default assets to retexture - or upload your own mesh file (files must only have no submeshes, have fewer than 25k faces, and be less than 20 MB in size).
Describe your object and go through our 3-step preview process. You can also choose to specify symmetry along the ZY plane, preserve existing UV maps and generate material maps (normal, metallic, and roughness).
Wait for the job to complete. When the job has finished, your textured asset will appear!
You've successfully used Polyhive to generate a texture using AI! You can continue to use the default assets, or upload your own 3D files - if you don't have any, you can find free assets at Sketchfab, CGTrader, and TurboSquid.
